Once again, the DNR and the Library of Michigan will be offering Park and Read Passes, which allow patrons to “check-out” a free one-day vehicle pass to any Michigan state park or recreation area. New this year, the passes will also grant admission to museums and historic sites in the Michigan Historical Museum System, including the Michigan Historical Museum in Lansing. The program will run from April 1st to October 1st, but passes will continue to be honored until December 31st. Many parks will also offer a free hammock to use during your time in the park. Park and Read Passes are available for check-out to Howell Carnegie District Library cardholder's.
