STEAM Club Jr: Static Electricity (grades K-2)

Our STEAM Club Jr. explores Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math principles for younger elementary students. This month participants will explore the properties of static electricity by making "magic wands". 

Registration is required and begins at 9am on Monday, April 29.

LEGO Club: Build and Program the NASA Perseverance Rover (grades K-5)

If you love building and creating, you'll love our LEGO Club. Each session we will feature a different LEGO themed activity. This month participants will build a replica of the NASA Perserverance Rover and then be able to program it to move.

Registration is required and begins at 9am on Monday, May 6. A minimum of 8 registered participants is necessary for this event to proceed as scheduled.

Toddler/Preschool Dance Party (Outdoors)

Parents/caregivers & 0-5 year olds, join Howell Library staff for an outdoor Dance Party featuring 20-30 minutes of nonstop dancing! Bring your dancing shoes and move & groove to favorite and new songs. All ages welcome to attend. Drop-in; no registration required. This event is free.

  • Please feel free to bring a tarp/blanket if you'll want to sit and take a break from dancing. Don't forget sunscreen, hats, and/or bug spray.

Summer Reading Kickoff Party (Preschool & Elementary ages with parents/caregivers) (Outdoors)

Celebrate the beginning of our 2024 Summer Reading Challenge at our Kick-off Party where you can: 

  • Create giant bubbles

  • Play with yard games and sensory stations

  • Make a Smores Solar Oven (to bring home and make smores in)

  • Get a glitter tattoo and/or balloon animal

  • Walk & read a story together with the United Way mobile reading trail

  • Sign up for our 2024 Summer Reading Challenge

This event is geared for Preschool & Elementary age along with parents & caregivers. See our calendar for our Summer Reading Kick-off Party for older tweens & teens.
