How to Unlock Glass Doors
The lockers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and are accessible through the glass doors at the rear of the building. To unlock the glass doors, enter the following sequence into the keypad located to the left of the doors:
Press [*] button on keypad
Enter 4 digit code given to you by email or phone (example [1-2-3-4])
Press [#] button on keypad
If entered correctly, the red light will become green and doors will unlock. Please be aware that this is a one-time use code and will not allow for multiple entries.
How to Unlock Locker
To open the locker enter the following sequence into the keypad located on the locker door:
Press [C] button on keypad
Enter 4 digit code given to you by email or phone (example[1-2-3-4])
Press [🔑] Key button to unlock.
If entered correctly, the door will make a whirring sound and door will unlock. Once you have retrieved your items, please leave the door unlocked. You do not need to enter any further combinations.
If you have any difficulty accessing your locker and/or your designated door code does not work. Please contact the Circulation Department at 517-546-0720 during operating hours. If the library is closed, please contact or visit the library on the next available business day.
What is 24/7 pickup @ your library?
A convenient way to pick up requested materials any time, even when the library is closed.
How do I let the library know I want to choose this option?
When you request materials through the library’s website, select “24/7 Lockers” as your pickup location. This option is available for holds on materials that are currently checked out, requesting materials currently on the shelves, and MelCat items.
Where will I pick up my requested materials?
The materials you designate by selecting the “24/7 Lockers” pickup option will be placed in lockers located in the back of the library building. You will enter through the double glass doors in the back of the building (see Door and Locker Instructions).
How will I know when my requested materials are available for pickup?
When the materials you designate by selecting the “24/7 Lockers” pickup option become available, library staff will check the items out on your card and place them in a locker in the back of the building. You will then receive an email or phone call with the following information:
- What items are waiting for you.
- The latest date they can be picked up (3 days from when they are placed in the locker).
- When the materials are due (due date is calculated from the day the materials are checked out and placed in the locker, not based on when they are picked up).
- Step-by-step instructions (see Door and Locker Instructions) on how to access the building and the locker containing your materials. Because there are multiple steps and a unique code, we recommend that you receive this information via email.
Can I leave my car parked in the back driveway while I pick up my requested materials?
Yes, as this is a quick pick up. Just like using the book return is a quick drop off.
What happens if I don’t pick up my materials on time?
The material will be removed from the locker and checked in.
Can I access the main library through these doors?
